As I celebrate my first blogiversary (blog + anniversary), I thought it would be a great idea to look through Google Analytics (an insight tool for websites) to see which of my 132 posts were the most popular. I ignored the posts that were just giveaways, because those are a little skewed, and also decided to break down my Top 10 into two lists of Top 5: general posts and products reviews. And so, here they are in countdown style, Maman on the Trail’s Top 10 Most Popular Posts…
Top 5 General Posts:

I think it is only fitting that a Hike it Baby post be in the Top 10 since that has been such a huge part of the past year for me. I started my local Hike it Baby branch right around the same time that I started blogging, and you can read all about the process of becoming a branch ambassador in this post. I have a post about the first year with Hike it Baby in the works, so stay tuned for that!

I would probably think that Google Analytics was broken if it didn’t tell me that at least one of the Humans of the Outdoors posts was in the Top 10. This has been a huge ongoing project on my blog that has become so much more than I could have hoped for. Each “Human” that submits their story helps to inspire so many more people to get outside together!

Some people think we are crazy but we camped with cloth diapers (TWICE!) and lived to tell the tales! The first trip gave us a good sense of the dos and don’ts of camping with cloth, and the second trip we learned how to pack less by using a wool diaper cover. Apparently these advice-filled posts were a hit with Maman on the Trail fans, so I’ll have to pump more out this summer after we camp and hike with a toddler!

My first post! I guess it has a lot of views because it has been on the site the longest. If you are looking to convince yourself or others of why hiking is such an incredible activity, then this is the post for you. It outlines 13 reasons, applicable to just to anyone, for hitting the trails right now. Hiking is such a customizable activity that there is no reason not to love it. No excuses, get outside today!

And with a name like “Maman on the Trail” it is pretty darn perfect that my most popular post is about hiking while pregnant. i honestly can’t wait for the next time I am pregnant so that I can write an updated version of this with even more experience under my boots. And perhaps a few more pictures of me, and less tock photos, ha ha.

Apparently you love Go Little One Go pants as much as we do! Huckleberry is now walking and still fits so well in them. They are definitely a product I recommend to other parents often! They are so soft and stretchy and breathable – perfect for romping around and learning to crawl in! Speaking of romping around, Go Little One Go now makes rompers with their signature star-shaped grippies on the knees. They even have hoods!

We heard rumours of wool diaper covers being amazing on the trail, so we had to try one out…and let’s just say it lived up to its reputation! I know there are many of you that were curious about wool (and maybe you still are) and I urge you to take the plunge. A wool diaper cover is a worthwhile investment that will help you pack less while camping, do less laundry and ultimately protect our planet just a little more. Check out Gentle Nest’s selection of BabeeGreens wool products.

Have you heard about Spray Pal yet? Not only did they invent the best way to deal with poop, but they are the cutest family ever! Anyway, in case you haven’t noticed, we cloth diaper our trail baby. Cloth diapering is amazing 95% of the time, but then there’s a really messy number 2 and no one wants to deal with it. Well, until we got our Spray Pal splatter shield and diaper sprayer. Now it’s almost fun, like about as much fun as you can have with poop.

We are slowly trying to decrease our ecological footprint by replacing disposable items with reusable versions and we were so happy to replace plastic snack bags with locally made reusable ones from Litsie Creations. Our Litsie snack bags help us leave no trace on the trail, and they make daily appearances in my lunch bag at work too! These bags are also great for toiletries, cosmetics, reusable menstrual products, and more!

It makes me really happy (probably too happy) that these hiking socks are my number one viewed review – nothing can make or break a hike like a pair of socks. And Darn Tough offers a lifetime warranty on their socks! Seriously, if you wear a hole in your socks, you can receive a new pair, no questions asked, forever and ever and ever. Plus, they come in a ton of fun colours and kid sizes too.
